It does look like a RPM, which one, should be easy to I.D.
It looks like a misaligned die so minor it adds no value.
Actually it looks the same size. I was hoping for a shot of the whole half dollar. I'm thinking from the photo it was encased.
Got a larger photo of that half dollar? Also it's best (for me at least) to start a different thread for each coin, it's less confusing when...
One is on the planchet the other is from the die.
I say post mint also, you can see marks from other coins.
You might want to check it against the -001, looks close. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1940&die_id=1940p1do001&die_state=mds
I'm by far no expert but how about more pictures of the date and liberty. Thanks
Hey newbie, sorry for taking so long to respond. I use a 30x36 magnifier to view my coins and a microscope for even closer looks. I've notice...
Sorry, I noticed that is how it works. What parts are doubled?
OK, you are right coop. I looked to fast. [ATTACH]
Still can't tell, pictures to small.
The 70S looks like a small date and the 72 is a doubled die. Nice find.
Yep, I check every one as well.
From what I can see of the pics. it looks like machine doubling. Notice how the damage takes away from the letters?
Another one to go back into circulation.
A little difficult to see the small pic. I enlarged it a little but still not clear. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Nice find. I've been doing this for well over year now and haven't found a one. :crying:
Coins that get stuck in commercial dryers and can get thrown into an area where they rotate the entire time the dryer is on and if not removed...
Can't really see, the pictures are to blurry. How about a shot of the AM in America.
