Anytime I see irregular doubling all around the features, die deterioration is my first guess. Longacre doubling just applies to IHCs. ;)
Thanks! I use a Nikon D70S with the 60mm macro lens, a tripod and a wireless remote. The resulting image is about 1:1 magnification.
Just a thought--the surface bubbling could be due to corrosion of the zinc core. All it takes is some impurity or pinholes in the plating to set...
