What I said in the other thread was to NOT use the Red Book as a price guide...I don't think I have EVER said NEVER to use the Red Book....I do...
Gallery Grading had been around for awhile...its not good from what I have seen.... here is a link to a site---it list most Co......
Neat...I have never seen something like this...maybe Mike can tell us more about them. I wonder if its a Capped Die error? Speedy
Now don't get me wrong....I would never fake a coin...I was just saying what has happened to me...I have gotten common coins that have been fakes....
ok....so...does it feel like your holding 12 ounces? If so...you would have about $120 in silver.... What I was saying is...that when you...
Not bad...I think my dealer charges about the same...maybe a few $$ +/-. Speedy
Sorry....at this time I don't get CW....I might in a few weeks...an older collectors gives them to me every now and then. Speedy
We would need photos before we could tell you what the value would be. Speedy
How...when ware is ware....it can't be UNC...unless our grading Co. go nuts. I think it says...that when a coin has ware it is NO longer Mint...
What does it weigh... in onces... Silver is not in pounds....its in troy ounces...and yes...a silver round of 1 ounce of silver might sell for...
Sorry about that...ANACS...I saw you post here... and thought you were talking about grading Co.... Well I would suggest that you look for...
I think you might get silver value but at the most I could see someone paying $10 for it...but thats about as high as I think it would go! Speedy
Yes the AAW is ment to be that way... I would suggest one book for you....the Red Book...it has many photos like this and might help you alot!...
I think they are just as good as NGC or PCGS....the PNG report said that NGC was the best of everything.... Speedy
AU is a grade...its Almost Uncirclated...that means that it has some ware or in my case...it didn't have any ware but because of the cleaning it...
Some collectors mess up too when they send in a coin to get graded...they think it will come back MS65 and be worth $50 but when it comes back...
It could have been dipped in Acid to take off one layer of metal....or it could been a fake...what would a lead quarter weigh??...I know that...
That is great!! Speedy
I think most grading Co are good at spoting cleaning...in fact I sent in 3 coins to ANACS that I didn't think were cleaned and they came back...
Nice coin!!!... I would bust it out for sure....they might not give a upgrade if they see it in another holder--not they will...I can't say for...
