I suppose it would be quite possible... If the nickels were kept UNC in a roll for so long, depending on what type of roll it was in IE paper...
As long as they wont look at the rim nick that the coin has.....:D
I actually think I have the magazine that has that story in it, I've got a couple of older metal detector magazines that are just layin around.

I would imagine a lot of coin dealers would tell their customers that the mint wrapped rolls have better coins in them than those at the banks,...
