It is a plating blister and the underlying zinc is pushing it's way out. Damaged, sorry to say. We call this zinc rot.

If you ever see *any* weird things with 1982 and later cents keep these items in mind ... and remember that this will kill all the 1982 and later...

I see what you are looking at. The zoomed in images are from under Lincoln's nose. Not an error coin. Those are plating blisters from the zinc...
since post 1982 pennies are an 8 micron thick layer of copper plated onto a zinc core. This was done due to cost and because they make coinage...
Plating blister. Common on these copper coated Zinc cents. Not an error.
It's called a Linear Plating Blister. It happens on Copper Plated Zinc Cents :yack:
