      I saw a larger version go for $250 on eBay recently, so yes, I did get lucky.

      Thank you for the kind comment. The coin is a silver French Marianne medal from the 1920's that I bought on eBay for about $35 from a very nice woman in Belgium.

      It actually looks a lot like me!

      nothing ultra special today calum except the last coins of belgium and luxembourg before they adopted the euro, i think word is getting round as i was talking to an avid bank note collector who has started to go every week and he was a member of the IBNS as well. one really interesting thing i did find was an 1849 apothecary coin weight.

      just dip the coin for a couple of minutes then rinse in cols water and dab dry, it usually works well and doesn't destroy any patina on the coin, i will keep a look out at widnes for any more interesting coins if you are interested?
