      Hey there !

I finally got the 1988 D reverse 89 back from ANACS. I got the crud scared out of me when they listed the shipping # as "finalizing" for 8 days before I called them. Then the girl couldn't find it. lol I KNEW it had been sent to the wrong place.

I cannot tell you how glad I am that it worked out.

And the next error I send to CONECA, I will send a submission form with it. Amazing how much goes wrong when you are stupid. lol But I try never to repeat a mistake or the same wrong idea.

I promised to keep you updated. But I have absolutely no idea what I will do at this point. I know that this is dang scarce and in high demand.

Any advice or experience you would share is appreciated,
      gary

That is why I did not ask for it to be removed. There are now a couple others who voted and are probably either none the wiser or confused. Since it has been removed, I don't even know who they are.

      Thanks !

But I am worried to death over it. Almost sick to my stomach. I mean I have been checking and checking and have gleaned that there are only 5 known to date. One was sold on eBay for $430, but PCGS didn't assign the attribute on the holder and the buyer returned it. I contacted the seller to learn this. He knows now that he made a major mistake listing it there. His may be worth thousands ! MS63 grade.

I learned that ANACS has Never graded one ! I feel that since the Philadelphia mint coins have shown up about 1 each month since 2007, that dealer's must have combed their stock. No one has come up with the D's. What if there were only a very few punched with the 1988 D obverse and the 1989 reverse before the hub was switched over ?

I am scared of mailing it to James Wiles at CONECA. Can I trust the man ? What about the Post Office ? Then shipped on my behalf to ANACS ? Man, I didn't even sleep last night searching the web.

      Any advice ?

      Thanks,
      Gary

      Hey guy,

I don't know if you have been following any of my threads, but I found a darn good one in a roll. 1988 D DVR.
I had it authenticated verbally by a local dealer and am being asked to send it to James Wiles at CONECA. This might be the find of my life. Heritage Auction has already expressed interest. I may have the 5th or 6th one know to exist ? Unbelievable !

Thanks for supporting me in the dumps and keeping me interested. I just thought you might be interested in this.

      Your collector friend,
      Gary

Thanks. Look, dad is 90. He is going to die. Maybe not this week or next, but as I explained to him, "It is extremely arrogant to think you might be the only individual since the beginning of time to beat the system". With me not driving and the wife being caretaker for her mom, it becomes challenging.

Thanks yet again, see you around shortly,
      Gary

I wanted to thank you for all the encouragement you gave me. I am having some problems with my dad at the moment. He turned 90 and they need to operate on him for an intestinal problem ? I think. He's 4 hrs away and I cannot understand what he is telling me on the phone. I did set everything aside for a bit, and just searched rolls for a bit.
Thank you again for your support. This cyber world is about the only social outlet I have and I appreciate what you have given me.

      Thank you man,
      Gary
