the man that i talked to on the phone said it was not a rare coin he did not think anyone would go to the trouble to make a fake coin even in 1851. because it was hard to do and cost alot to do it.he thinks it was stamped out at the mint but would be very hard to prove.i would just like to know if anyone else has one or seen one.

i would just like to know if anyone has ever seen a 1851 large one cent coin that is not copper.weight is not the same as copper.looks just like the one i have that is copper.but more like it is made from nickel silver or something.the us mint put me in touch with a man that said he would say that it was stamped out at the mint but it would be very hard to prove.i would just like to know if they are another one out there some where.you can email me at paulbuck2@verizon.net thanks for your help.
