Congrats. I started collecting coins in 1964 and have NEVER gotten an Indian Head Cent in change. The earlierst coin that I can remember getting in change was a few 1910 Lincoln Cents (but I think the last time I got one of those Nixon was in his first term).

Nice! In almost 20 years of cashiering, I've found only TWO IHCs...

Wow, impressive find. I'm 41 years old and have bought a lot of stuff in my life and have yet to ever receive an Indian Head Cent in my change. And I'm pretty observant when it comes to my change; definitely would've noticed if there was ever an Indian Head Cent in there.

It's hard to believe there could still be Indian head cents floating around in circulation. I wonder if someone had a jar of coins in their house for 50 years and they just cashed them in or something? On a related note, I was in a coinshop a few days ago and I heard an employee talking to someone on the phone who claimed they had found a 1916 standing liberty quarter in change. That is even more unlikely. Of course, I'm not privy to the whole story and don't know if that's what it turned out to be.

I didn't realize they were that rare. I mean I knew there weren't many out there but 20 years and not finding one.....
I've only cashiered for two years and found two. A 1900 and a 1901. Now, i may never find one again but thats the current count.

    Nice piece of Silver !

I have searched several boxes of cents recently and only found 1 1942 Wheat cent with paper glued to the reverse as if taken from a folder. It is a higher grade so I wonder if a collection bit the dust ?

Nice Canadian. About a year ago, a customer paid with, among other things, a borderline AU 1935 Canadian nickel. I live in San Fran. Must have been in a collection at some point...

Here's how rare getting an IHC is, in my experience. In the same time period, about 20 years, and getting two IHCs, I've received 3 or 4 Walkers, a couple of V nickels, 4 or 5 different denomination Barber coins, and a 1910 (or 1912) French 10 Centimes silver, as well as maybe a dozen pre-1930 foreign coins.

I will honestly tell you all I miss Montana, I swear to the good lord above ( I know this isn't a place for religion) that we use to find IHC playing in the dirt and even in change (though rare) I use to find at least 3 a year. This was back in the 90's I'm sure they have (for the most part) all been gathered up

I have yet to find an Indian Head Cent in change. Closest to that was I bought some used Indian Head Cent folders and opened one up and found a 1906. Best circulation find was a 1921-S Wheat Cent back in 1990.
