I just need your opinions on this coin. Thinking about sending it to NCS but I really like the obverse the way it is. The reverse may already be badly damaged. Is there a way to tell?

Looks to me that it is an AU coin correct? If that would be the case I would leave it about the only way I would send it to NCS is if it would 63 or better.

did you get it that way or how was it before you put it in the airtite?

in any case its not a key date and it looks like NT so no need for NCS.

Yup, got it like this. Raw in a flip. It was a cheap eBay win. Had to have it for the obverse. The blue is just BEAUTIFUL in hand!

    I'd leave it for sure.

This type of toning on the reverse looks familiar, but I can't nail it for sure. There were some old obscure coin albums that had a strip across the back of the coin slot, I guess it was intended for ease of removal of a pressed in coin, but anyways, after long periods of storage they took on this characteristic look.

    Leave as is!

There's really nothing NCS could, or would, do to that coin. So that should answer your question.

It's possible that it was taped into some kind of album from the back.

The blue rim on the obverse is reminiscent of some of the "Tid-E-Bowl" Morgans like the one below.

I'd definitely leave it as is. That pattern is probably due to storage in an album, and the coin would look odd, were you to have the toning removed. Also, the cost might exceed the value of the coin.

    Ditto, on all the above.

I like the reverse...very cool tab toning, usually seen on commems.
