    Hi.

I recently discovered this 1978D Roosevelt Dime looks to have copper plating on about 75% of both its sides. I know that the interior of a dime is a full copper core, but I'm trying to determine what would cause this. Is this man-made or was this an error at the mint itself in how it was made.

    Thanks for your help

I would have to agree with Snowman. The fading effect isn't what a real error and I would do a little more research on it instead.

Thank you all for looking at this. Alas. Here I thought I had the next 1933 $20 double Eagle. Turns out I've got 10 cents and a can of spray paint. Oh well.
