    HI,
I am trying to figure out what variety,(category) of the 1922D Lincoln cent that this one is in. I know there is the 1922D Weak Rev., 1922D weak D, and just the plain ol' 1922D. What do you guys think? 1922D-1.JPG 1922D-5.JPG 1922D-3.JPG 1922D-2.JPG 1922D-4.JPG

Plain old 1922 D. It is only when the D is in question as to its presence or how much presence, does the reverse become important. If the D was not or barely visible, then we would be talking about no -d or weak D, and the different reverses.

Thanks, Jim! Took awhile for an expert to help.JK!!! I looked at other sites like the Lincoln Resource site and they had what was called a continuous die crack on the rev. that signified something. Just thought it would help increase it's value. www.lincolncentresource.com/1922Ddievarieties.html

This site kinda of got me going on this. Thought it might be worth something. I noticed mine had the straight die crack on the rev.

The link refers to the weak/no D varieties. There were over 7 million 1922-D according to the redbook with many normal die combinations producing the regular "strong" D cents, and even those were used until they were damaged. I have some 1922-D ( not weak D/no D) that have worn and cracked reverses similar to the ones on the weak/no D varieties, but they are just 1922-D :) Drat!

There are folks that will make even a die crack sound like something special just because its on a 22-D. Everyone knows the hype that goes with this year. It is a nice find though, havn't found one myself...
