I just saw your message with no replies as yet. Within a day you should get a good answer.

I would look in the Krause catalog under Nepal. It may be a coin but it may also be a temple token. I'll get back to this thread when I get home. Sorry I'm not much help right now.

    Very best regards,
    collect89

P.S. Obviously, it is holed & probably used as a charm. It would be good to know the diameter & weight / type of metal. Do you think it is Copper or Brass?

Thank you collect89,The token is 1 inch in diameter, the weight is 4.4 grams and the metal seems to be brass.I found this by a mining site with 1850s Chinese coins,I have been able to id them but this one i could not. Im not even sure if this wasnt a more recent lost token/coin.thank you for any helpwith this ...regnartoken

Pretty cool find, sounds like a good area where you have been looking. I wish I knew more about your find.... but I would expect it to be older rather than recently lost... but I'm not the man for the job... I'm sure someone will be by soon who can help you out further.

The writing is meant to be Arabic. I think it is a fantasy piece, to imitate a coin from the Ottoman empire.

    It's not a coin, I think.

I had a similar coin, turned out to be a jewelry copy of an Algerian riyal. I suspect your is the same. Try the site linke at the bottom of this thread for Zeno.ru, a great site for IDing Asian coins.

Thank you to everybody..Rdwarrior your link was really helpful,it sure does look like a eastern european copy.It did say from late 19th to early 20th century, and that does seem like the find was from the period that i was digging.Could have came off a belly dancer!Thats my story and Im sticking to it..HA HA. Is worth anything, besides a really good memory of a good hunt? Which by the way IS PRICELESS..Thank you all...regnartoken

Well, I don't think it is worth much, maybe a few dollars, if that. But, I agree with you about the memory of a good hunt. I have never hunted for coins myself, I don't really know where I would look around here. But finding anything yourself sounds like a pretty cool experience. So enjoy the fruits of your labour, and keep on looking, I expect more threads showing off the amazing things you will find in the future ;) don't let me down.
