I recently purchased this medal and it came in today, I took photo's and I'm hoping that someone can help me figure out exactly it is. I haven't a clue as to it's age, origin or purpose but I think it's stunning in hand! Any ideas? :help!A:

I'm sure that this is a two modern commemorative medals.

I was unable to find any information on this medal. It may be a Wedding Medal of the two or it may be the commemoration of a State Visit. There was a King Henry III of France who was also elected King of Poland during the religious wars against the Huguenot's.

The cornucopia mintmark has been used by the Paris Mint since January 1, 1880, but the medal does look like a modern restrike. Is the name of the designer anywhere on the medal? I couldn't see one, but it might help to date it. You might also try searching Hedley Betts' website........ www.medalsoftheworld.com
