    Hell all,
    Can anyone identify this coins?
The single coin is light color (silver?), about 31mm diameter, 2mm thick. Hebrew letters say "Shekel Israel" with amphora/cup. Other side translates to "holy Jerusalem" with olive (?) branch.

The other 2 coins: Larger is about 21mm diameter, 4.5mm thick. Smaller about 18mm diameter, 3mm thick. Metal looks like copper or bronze, dark patina. Smooth edges seem hand honed. Lettering might be ancient hebrew (not sure) and cup on one side, pomegranats on other.
They seem very thick and even to be ancient but I'm no expert :)

Also I have an extensive collection of official Iraeli medals and coins plus trade coins of Israel and British mandate.
I'm interested in selling it but don't care to sell on ebay. Can anyone recommend a decent dealer/buyer who will give me good price for all?

    Thanks

    Agreed. Sorry, but they're modern.

Thought so myself, wonder why my grandfather bothered to buy them. (he knew his coins quite well)
    Thanks anyway

Ancient coins are very different from modern coins, and if he collected modern stuff, he may very well not have known what to look for with stuff like this. It's also possible that he found these for sale at a very cheap price on a street corner or something and just picked them up as a souvenir.

    True that.
I was given an article about them from another forum. It says those are typical to the 19th century as pilgrim souveniers. In that case, could they still have some value?
