Many of you may already have gotten the 2010 coins, but I just my first ones today. I don't know if they just made it to the Chicago area or what, but I got two 2010 P dimes at the gas station and two 2010 P pennies at the grocery store. It's about time.
Just got my first 2010 Lincoln last week. Design looks better than i thought it would, although the stylistic difference between the obverse and reverse really bothers me.
I think the reverse on the cent looks kind of retro, like more 19th century. I'm not sure if I like it, but it's different, that's for sure.
Saw my first 2010-d nickel today in regular change - the P coins we saw earlier - I guess since we live very close to Phila.
I was in Chicago in June this year, that's where I found my first 2010-P dimes and one cent coins in circulation. Same time as the OP. Been finding a lot of the same in the NYC area since about July too.
I picked up both 2010 Rosie's in NYC change a few weeks ago. As I posted on another thread, in one set of change I got the two dimes and a state quarter I needed. I was pretty excited about that, but the business associates I was with did not share the same emotion. Friggin non coin lovers
I got the 2010D cent in circulation while on a business trip to Salt Lake City in March. A few months ago, I got the (2) 2010 P dimes in Central NY & (3) 2010D dimes on the toll highway in Illinois. I must say that it was the only time that I liked going through the plethora of toll booths in that state. Since June, I haven't seen any 2009 or 2010 coins in circulation. I'm still looking at those 2009 holes and wondering if I will ever fill them from circulation. I'm thinking no, especially to the quarters (P&D).
So far I've gotten both pennies and dimes and one nickel (forget which mint). I haven't seen any quarters yet. I also got my first 2009 dime last week too. I still need several of the 2009 coins, a year and a half after they supposedly came out.
I don't know if they've made the National Park Quarters available to the banks for public circulation. Everytime I ask a teller or bank manager I get a blank stare. Anybody know the answer?
Yes, NPQ's are available to all banks. However, to banks, change is a product that only needs to be replenished when reserves are low. They don't just get new designs to have them available. When your bank runs low on quarters, if ever, they will order some and the local Fed will ship them what they have on hand. Non-collectors just don't understand, thus the stares. Edit: I know everyone always complains about this, but please shrink you photos folks. Its not hard to do and it does make thing tidier.
I've seen all 2010 coins except the Quarter i haven't seen them in my city at least but i got one when i went out of town hoping for them to get here soon !
