I display my flat pack proof sets and my mint sets in the 3 pocket currency holders. Here is a picture of my 1997 silver proof set.

    Hi-

    Still a 'noob' here.
Would these be considered "proof sets"?
The coins don't look 'pristine' to me.

Wow. Some great ideas here. I've got them from 1965 but just put them in a plastic container with some anti-moisture stuff.

Never considered using the Dansco album or removing them from their packaging and storing that separately!

DOH! See, it is useful to leave the house once in awhile!

No flak from me. I have a Lincoln cent Dansco including all the proofs. The holes are filed with proof Lincolns and they must have come from somebody's proof sets.

    My 25 year run

This is my 1968-1992 consecutive run of proof sets in a shadowbox case. I'm missing the 1990, waiting to trade an extra I have with a guy to get it. Starting out with three sets, buying 22 sets plus the case, ended up costing me $180

I haven't seen any 1982 or 1983 souvenir sets on here yet, so here is a photo of mine -- they belong to my run of mint sets from my birth year to the present (1981 to date).

    Enjoy! :thumb:

I’m resurrecting this thread so I can post another proof set / mint set storage method. In about 1990, ANACS was in Colorado Springs & they still offered their original photo certificates. This proof set was graded by ANACS and then I put it into a Capital holder. Capital holders have been a popular way of displaying proof & mint set coins dated up to about 1968.

All my proof sets which are in Capital holders are stored in these zip-lock plastic baggies. The snack size baggies are the perfect size for holding a Capital five coin holder. I believe the baggie keeps the atmosphere around the holder more stabile and it protects the Capital plastic from becoming scratched. Does anyone else use this method of storage?

    Thanks for letting me share.

Is anyone else having problems on delivery of their 2010 Silver Proof Set? I was informed by a mint employee, over the phone, that UPS labels were incorrectly addressed and many days worth of shipments are unaccounted for. I filled out a CNR report and was told it may not be until the end of November before it is resolved. I ordered in August, had a confirmation of shipment in early September and then nothing happend. By the time they get around to re-shipping, I'm afraid I'll get some one else's defective return.

k ill post pics if you can tell me if these sound like proofs.canadian quarter set the year they did the provinces. nothing is sealed. the coins are in cardboard insert holes, and placed in a heavy page protector. you could pull the cardboard out and pop the coins if you wanted. i dont believe they are circulation. the mint did sell these.

I have 3 US Mint 1997 Botanic Garden Coin & Currency Sets in the GSA sealed pkgs purchased directly from the mint.
Very aware of the low mintage for initially the Mint returned my funds with their "SOLD OUT" info. Much later I received
phone call with caller identifying self as US Mint related. I was informed that I could have 3 sets. Unbelievable, Yup?
I would not order at that time for I wanted to confirm that was a legal call. Too much inbetween to mention now, but I
authenticated and called the Mint at 8AM the following morning...call was transferred many times...then YES, I could
have the 3 sets. Now, I want to either sell the sets, or break them up and sell the Jefferson Nickel in it's Matte finish.
Of course, not any have been graded and my question is what are the sets worth....what is a single Nickel worth...etc.
I could post pics but they will not be of excellent quality like that of coinmaster1's...any sound advice will be greatly
    appreciated. herc

man! You beat me to the punch! I thought that I was the only one who felt that these were a must have for my run of Mint Sets. Many collectors don't even know that these sets exist
