Same date, mintmark, and photographer. Id like to know which one you prefer. thanks Coin 1 Obverse Coin 1 Reverse Coin 2 Obverse Coin 2 Reverse thanks:thumb:
very interesting! I will elaborate at why i asked the question later on, because theres definitely a reason behind the question.
I like coin #2. The reverse toning is much more impressive and I actually really like the variegated toning on the obverse. I think it gives the coin character. Besides, there are toning breaks on the obverse of coin #1 as well.
I prefer the one with the "pot of gold" beneath it! (and the 1869s... as well) But #2 reverse does it for me..nice color! RB
I like #1 better. The splotchy look on Roosevelt's face on #2 makes it look like he has another disease, and it draws your attention away from anything else. So, on which one are you going to bid? Chris
I prefer the golden tones of #2 not sure if it is the lighting on #1 but the coin itself loos sort of matt no shine to it at all
Put them both in an NGC multi-coin holder with the obverse of #1 and the reverse of #2 facing forward. I like #1.
1 - I'm not so sure that the second coin has natural toning, looks like it had help to me. 2 - even if it is natural I think it is ugly as sin and would not own such a coin. But that's personal taste.
