GDJMSP: Do you mean to say expect to sell for 15-20% lower than "Grey Sheet"? Buy the same token, when buying expect to pay 15-20% over "Grey Sheet"?
It depends, most dealers will sell you coins for 15-20% over grey sheet. However, if you make friends with them, they will often sell to you at less than grey sheet.
Yes - and remember, there is a built in spread already - Bid/Ask. When selling, it is 15-20% less than Bid. When buying, it is 15-20% more than Ask.
Hey - or you can do like I do and bid $1000.00 on all the $10,000 coins. You never know if you might hit the lotery, and its cheaper to play than the numbers. Ruben
I'm to cautious to buy anything from either Heritage or ebay. Just to many horror stories about both. There are lots of stories posted on several coin forums for both good and bad things happening with both so to play safe I look but don't touch. Photos on line are just to deceiving due to lighting, angle of photo, etc. I'd rather just go to a coin show, store, private dealer and see what I'm buying.
On Heritage Signature auctions -- Don't bother bidding online in them. Online bidding closes before the floor bidding begins. There will always be someone in the floor bidding willing to pay market value, so in order to get a coin with the internet bidding, you have to pay more than full market value. I like the images from Teletrade and I have always had a good experience with them. Their auctions are more in the Internet (read E-Bay) tradition whereas the Heritage auctions are more in the show floor auction tradition.
Your on it right now How can we say anything but that!! No-really...each forum has members with knowledge---just like each book has something the other one doesn't. That is why I suggest you read everything you can....even online..... Speedy
