Well folks, got my first winnings in the mail today. Two more to follow. Dang these guys are slow.....
nice pickups! ... i think the toning pattern on the huguenot is interesting ... and the eagle on the back of the bridgeport is art deco out the wazoo
Thanks guys. Duke, my fledgling collection can be viewed here....http://www.numissociety.com/album.php?albumid=24
I've been interested in classic commem's all my life but only picked up my first one early last year. I've been collecting in earnest as of this year....
Your already at 11. Not a fledgling set at all! I've been working on mine for years but have hit a snag...the last 5 Hawaii, Hudson, Spanish Trail, Cincinnati and Norfolk. Mine are pretty much 64 to 66 with a few exceptions but it's been a long road.
With so many examples to collect I'm just havin' fun picking up what I like. After all, that really is what our hobby is all about. I don't let the grade thing get too much in the way. I go for the coin and not the holder. Now where have I heard that before.....LOL
I've been pretty much that way to. That is why they are not all one grade. EIther way good hunting and have some fun doing it!
Wow! Ken... Nice set you have going. I had no idea you had this many already. Congrats! (wish that darned NS site would load faster though.)
Ken, I just looked through your whole set and enjoyed it. You're well ahead of me! I am at four commem's so far. Thanks for posting your new ones and please post more as they come in. The Bridgeport eagle on the reverse is absolutely awesome (even if we have to look at PT Barnum on the obverse). Enjoy them!
