I've seen this posted elsewhere, but really, it's just one guys website "masters in accounting". What credibility does he have as a coin resource?
How the heck is CoinTalk number 48 out of 50?! It is like the best numismatic site out there! And some of the high ranking ones don't even exist! #1 on the list, Numismatic Blog, is a site with only like two or three threads on it!!!
Well, I agree that like all such, the list is a matter of opinion. I checked out a few and some were pleasant surprises. Others were less interesting. Given that, you need to think through what a blog is. A weblog is one person's writing, typically daily, on one subject or theme. Poltics provided the grist for the first bloggers. Blogs do draw comments and discussions, but they need not do so. Moreover, any discussions typically pass from the readers to the blogger, rather than crosstalk among readers. Coin Talk was listed as a resource, along with the ANA. Coin Talk is a discussion board, though we can "blog this post" which blurs the lines, admittedly.
Coin Talk needs to be UP THERE. I've been on other forums and this one is best by far. I've ran into unfriendly people who won't help out, and everybody seems to complain. But CT is now my #1 pick, I've gotten more help and advice on here in 2 days than I did in 2 weeks on another forum. But like mmarotta said above, CT is pretty much a resource, but over that, CT should be alot further up the list.
Coin talk is only one of like 3 coin boards i could find that have more then a few threads a month lol
I thought we would be higher up, I guess not. Guess the important thing is that we still make some noise, silently, it certainly would be nice to have more recognition, but we should be grateful we are even on the list.
It's great to be on the list, but it seems (as some already pointed out) to be biased. But, then, every year, I think Miss Florida should win the Miss America Pageant and Miss USA should win the Miss Universe Pageant. Clinker
Perhaps a higher rating could attract a number of people who would not be a good "fit". I mean I hear all the time how guys here migrated from other sites for various reasons. Generally the personalities of the others on the site. Numbers only count when posted on the game's scoreboard. IMHO gary
