$100 CWR from local bank - Nada
$50 dimes - 1 Roosie, '62. First silver coin found in a CWR.
    $50 nickels - about 30 pre-1960.

Got 2 boxes of cents today by dumping 8 rolls of dimes and 1 of quarters I pulled from a coffee can of loose change. Box had 40 new rolls of 2010 D. Last 10 rolls - 2 Wheaties 1919 S and 1958 D A few nice 1970-80's. Nothing else.

Man, I have a lot of 2010 D N R String rolls now, about 60. Haven't decided what to do with them. Try and sell a box on eBay, or open them up for a once over and take them to my dump spot ?

I drove to San Antonio for business and these are my finds.

One box before leaving yesterday: Skunk
Stopping at about a dozen or more of small town banks and several in San Antonio and I found about $355 of loose, CWR and Bank wrapped rolls: 2 40%ers :( :( :(
    One box when I returned: 4 40%ers

I'm now sitting at 198 boxes searched and 997 silver halves (many found outside of boxes). When I hit 200 and 1000, I'm going to slow down. My finds are not keeping up with my effort.....

I'm new to the forum and coin collecting. I don't really plan on buying any coins, so searching rolls is where its at for me. I'll do all values but mainly sticking to half dollars. I live in las Vegas so I can get rolls from the casinos. I have tried a couple casinos already, told them exactly what I was doing and they sold me rolls NP. The rolls where all String and Son. My $100 of test rolls yielded nothing for halves, no dates under 71. I'm still going to get a couple boxes and see what happens. If I have any luck, I'll keep getting boxes. I'll post roughly what I find.

Did my first box of halves. There were so many coins marked with a line across the front of them with a marker I didn't know what to expect. Do you guys see this often? Anyway I found 3 40%'s so I was happy.

    $250 Dimes:
    3 silver rosies - 47D, 2-64D

I tell ya, it just isn't worth doing halves anymore.

Well, I'm glad people are doing dimes more, they're very worthy of being searched. They circulate the second least of any coin that you can find silver in.

Should be picking up some more change today, maybe half dollars.

Sorry about my previous post not sure how all that junk got in there. Yesterday I found a worn 1942 silver nickel in 5 rolls of nickels I searched nothing in $40 dimes and another silverless box of halves. Off to pick up two more boxes to look through.

I took a look at a teller's Halves and all were marked with a purple magic marker. Thankfully none were silver. Told the teller I didn't want any. I have no idea why someone would mark the halves.

yes i see it in almost every half box i got so far (marked with a W or M)... so the count stays at 1 40% but alot of NIFC halves ... it has kinda discouraged me so i did dimes and pennies for a while but i think i'll go back

So, you just picked up 180 40% silver halves for 90 bucks? You can sell them to dealers at about 4.5x face, so that is roughly a minimum of $360 profit. Why on earth do you limit the rolls you buy. It seems like most of what you get you state that you get "all 40%." It doesn't make sense that you don't just buy them all out and make a nice little profit and keep some to boot. I've got to wonder whether you're just messing with us....if not, then go buy every roll that this bank has.

Got two more boxes of halves I found 1 1964 half in each and one roll had a Franklin showing on the end it was a 1962-D not too often that you see a Franklin on the edge of a roll no shutouts this time :)
