I found this a couple weeks ago and noticed that it looks like it was struck through some foreign object. My only real guess is that it could maybe be a piece of hair. Anyone have any ideas? Or could this be Post-Mint Damage? Thanks for letting me know! strike through.jpg

It looks way too thick to be hair, and it could be almost anything.......wire, insulation, who knows? Pretty cool!

I thought it was pretty thick to be hair also. I am still wondering what it could be! Anyone know a value of what these go for? I know they go for more if the actual object is still intact on the coin.

I found one earlier this year with the wire or steel wool still intact. (Link below) It's smaller than the one that would have been in yours. I've been offered up to $85 for it but it's not for sale.

That is pretty cool that it is still intact! I wish mine was that way. Thanks for sharing that with me!

Nice find, and probably a piece of wire...

That is a pretty large strike through error...and when it is struck through something other than grease they usually have a higher demand. Very cool.
