2000 half dollar proof with chips on surface.

I am guessing this is post mint damage - but what causes this? Finish is chipped off at 3 and 8 o'clock. I love finding proofs in halves - even if they are not worth a ton - some look amazing.

I wanna say PMD, but after looking at all the scratches and marks on it, did you happen to find this in a roll? No proof should look like that unless it was spent. PMD is my guess but I could be wrong.

 

This was found in circulation.
