This guy makes me want to e-mail him and ask him after 20 years of collecting surely he has purchased a Red Book and if so he needs to read it.
This kind of advertising should be allowed to be scutinized publically if not for the educating factors of the ignorant seller, but also the protection of the ignorant purchaser.

This kind of behavior is simply wrong.

It is truly wrong. If you have an uneducated buyer, who just started collecting they may think this guy knows what he is talking about since he says he has 20+ years experience.

Even being a novice coin collector, this seller can't fool me. What a shame there are vultures like him out there.

    He said that just right....
I used to buy coins from a guy who would guarantee his raw coins....if NGC or PCGS or ANACS graded them something he didn't...you money came back...
He didn't sell many raw coins but when he did everyone felt that they were good.

I dont even want or know how to respond to that type of auction. Clearly its a scam and the guy or gall just wants to make an extra buck.

I sent him an email asking if perhaps he has the wrong picture... (give him some out). I mentioned that his listing is the topic of conversation on chat boards, and that the word 'scam' is coming up, so he may want to change his listing.
Interested to see if he changes the listing, or replies!
Ooops, just saw that the auction ended already! Oh well, at least he knows that people are watching!

by the way, he has at least two other listings for Gem BU morgans that are Fine condition on a good day. What a dog. Send him emails. Make him aware that people are noticing!

A bad thing about this guy, is the fact that the grades from the dealer (presumably) are on the flips, and they do not say GEM BU..... Which really doesn't matter, because some of these coins are barely xf 45

those coins reek newbiekiller. you'll get a newbie with a big head if he buys a few of those, and tries to sell them as Gem BU, and some experienced dealer laughs in his face. He'll stop collecting.

How could anyone(even a newbie collector) consider that coin "Brilliant uncirculated".
Guy's like that seller give E-bay a bad reputation IMO.

What a bonehead! This guy claims to have been collecting 20+ years and he calls that a BU Gem. Maybe he thinks BU=Butt Ugly. Definately one to avoid.

that is what offends me about this guy enough to contact him. What he is doing is not the simple 'my opinion vs yours'. It is established FACT that these coins are not BU. By stating that they are, he is inflating their percieved value by a huge, huge amount. And as you state, the newbie who shows up with these at a dealer is going to be humiliated, angry, and very likely could determine that coin collecting sucks. For some reason, among all the scammers, this guy offends me more than any in the last two years. It is the first time I've sent a message to a scammer... always figured it was not worth getting involved. This time, it really bothers me. Those coins are somewhere in the F to VF range, basically valued at melt for the most part. People could, if they believe the listing, pay a significant multiple of this. The only one who would fall for it is a rank newbie... a true beginner, and they are the one who would be the most shocked and impacted by such a bold faced lie. Calling a slider an MS63 happens, and is at least arguable as some people miss small friction... but these coins spent decades in the market to get this worn! surprised he did not call them 'poor detail mint errors' and start bidding at $200!

I just realized something horrific! This guy is a worse grader than SGS!

too true! At least SGS has the decency to actually break open the bank rolls of statehood quarters (meaning the coins are uncirculated) to slab as MS 70's

    lol
