What is the best way to store a few hundred wheat pennies?

Discussion in 'US Coins Forum' started by cookiemonster12, Sep 3, 2010.

  1. I have about 250 wheat pennies in little paper envelopes, but I'm not sure if they're acid free or not. How should I store all of these coins both cheaply and safely?

Coin tubes. Safe, cheap, and easily stored. I recommend the square sided ones.

  4. Okay, thanks! I guess I couldn't exactly look at them, but I suppose that I could put some of my nicer pieces in air-tite cases. Thanks for the help, coleguy!

+1 on coin tubes , inexpensive and none yellowing.

I like 2X2s myself, just make sure you flatten the staples or have a stapler designed for coin collectors. The 2X2s fit nicely in the red cardboard boxes designed for them; I don't recommend putting them in coin pages because they sag.
