Good morning.I have two Mercury 1942.I see a one under these coins.Think YOU like me or not?Thank you for the answer(s):hail:.Two sending.Excuse for the English, I am french. One error.A next message and a good image.Sorry.
If these are the Phillidelphia minted coins they are not the overdate. The second one needs better pictures if it is a D mint.
I'd re read my comment...maybe I wasn't clear enough. I was saying that they are not the Philadelphia overdate... and if the bottom piece is a Denver mint coin we need better pictures to determine if it is the Denver overdate because I see a little stair stepping on the bottom of the 4... It's probably the picture and is most likely not the overdate either.
What exactly was wrong with what LD stated? He said what I was thinking. The 42/1-D overdate is not as obvious as the 42/1. That's why it took 20 years or more to identify.
Welcome to the neighborhood! Do you know any of the French sellers on eBay?........Fouad Benkirane or Fabrice Volckaert? Chris Here is a little something in your honor. Chris
ooooh!!!Absolutely marvellous.Thank you, a good dream for this night.Sorry, I don' t know these sellers. In advance, excuse me for the errors but I don' t speak a good English but I learn.Thank you for all these answers.I am embarrassment
I have several hundred French medals in my collection. I love Marianne! No need to feel embarrassed. I can't speak French. To me, Oui! Oui! means someone has to go to the bathroom. Chris
He posted these on another forum along with a picture of the reverse. It is a Philadelphia issue. (oddly the photos were not as clear as they are here. In that forum th 1 nder the 2 appeared much stronger. Looks like new pictures but the coin shows the same die scratch up to the lower left corner of the 1 and the coming out of the upper loop of the 9 just above the 3:00 position.) He was told there that it was not the 42/1 overdate as well
I've dealed with alot of 42/1's, and you can pretty much spot that 1 a mile away, its actually pretty amazing...
That depends, as i do not buy cleaned coins i dont have much experience with it, since there is no real price guide for a cleaned coin it lies in the eyes and pockets of the buyer, I have seen cleaned coins go for the price of a coin several grades lower or in some cases 50% less than an uncleaned coin
Depends on how it was cleaned usually knock down grades because that's what it will sell as a raw coin or it's net grade. From the net grade you look up the value of the coin greysheet or numismedia then you offer 40-50% of that net grades value. That's how it works. Cruel but the only fair way.
