Any know of a good online resource for shilling die variety? I have here an 1867 Vicky shilling, with a die #18. I've heard tell that some of these die #s can be pretty rare. Since I don't know anything about it, I would imagine this at least one of the more common issues.
Rick, all the British coins from the 6d. through to the 2/- have die numbers. The 1878 'Dritanniar' 6d. is one to watch for. They have been found in Cyprus of all places. Aidan.
Rick,no the die numbers do not have mintage figures indicated in any of the main catalogues (Krause,Coincraft,or Spink's).There are some collectors of British coinage who are attempting to collect all the die numbers. That would take a life-time to do. Aidan.
