1804 Half Cent - cleaned 1911 Dime - cleaned 1865 3 cent - cleaned 1936 cent - looks gold plated. I'm probably wrong on some of my assumptions.
Cleaned lowers the grade and value. I haven't done much research into half cents so I can't give you an accurate value on it. I can tell you for certain the half cent and 3 cent have been cleaned.
well i really dont know half cent varietys that well so i cant really give you the value on that but the rest of the coins are mostly silver value. just try to give a value you here on the non-silver. somewhere around 50$ on the half cent. a dollar on the 1901 IHC. somewhere around 5 on the 3 cent nickel. the reverse of the half cent does look a little cleaned but i cant really say without better pictures.
The half cent does not look cleaned to me, it looks normal with a nice brown patina, I would also value it closer to $200. The rest of it seems pretty common a 1911 barber in fine maybe $5-10 bucks, the 1880 and 1924 dollars maybe $17-20 each, a buck for the 01 indian, the penny does look plated, and 3 CN is probably a VG maybe $10-15, maybe $7 for the half.
The penny is copper. The color should be like a circulated cent or BU color. Not gold. Here is a couple examples: http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1935_Penny.jpg http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1967_Penny.jpg
I dont think its clean but I see what you meen in the pic but I think it was just the angle of the camara and the flash of it
That's possible, however, the reverse shows the cleaning well. At least, what I presume to be cleaning. Notice the buildup around the wreath, definitely not a shadow cast by the lighting.
So you're saying because a coin may have a little detritus on it, it has been cleaned. While I don't doubt that most 200+ year old coins may have been cleaned at one time. I do not see any evidence of recent (last 50 years) cleaning or dipping on this coin, becasue A) the coin isn't pink (cleaned copper gets an ugly look when you have stripped away the patina) b) the coin has a little dirt and whatnot on it (why clean it if you're gonna leave that) and c) the fields are devoid of the little parallel scratches that come with cleaning a coin. I would say this is one of those coins that you want an experts opinion on as well as some varietal information. Depending on the variety of this half cent it could go way up in value if it was a rarer combination of dies or could stay around $200.
I agree with bqcoin, if has a cleaning it is a old cleaning. It is my opinion it would be deem gradeable by the PGCS and NGC. Personally I would spend the money to have it professionally graded before selling.
Bq has this one.. I see nothing that would make me say cleaned on the 1/2 cent in these pictures.. Nice looking coin. BQ has saved me some typing he and I are on the same page with this lot.
Nice looking 1/2 cent. Looks VF. It doesn't appear cleaned in the pic to me but in hand may have different opinion.
