    Hey Guys!

I was chosen to "liquidate" our aunt's coin estate, everything going well, but tonight I found something a little unusual.

I found a "US Mint Olympic Coin Die" from 1995.

It came with the CoA, and all information (press number, Philly mint, reason for retiring)

    It is the "Wheelchair" die.

Any idea if there is a market for that?? Or it's value??

    Thanks a big bunch!!

I believe these were x'd out unlike the state quarter dies which are totally ground out. I believe last time i saw one on ebay it went for around $200. Just my two cents.

Yes, it has been X'd out, it was a Proof die, reason of retiring was "starburst" and it did 1693 strikes before it was retired 09/16/97.

Thanks for your time and input! Will be listing it tomorrow!

I just sold one the other day for about $625 on Ebay. It was a different design but it was a 1995 Olympic canceled die. Not sure if the market is different for each one.

I bought my home state's die w/o realizing that there was literally nothing of the die left! A very disappointing purchase!

Yeah if it's an X canceled die it's worth $500-$700

The canceled ones can make some interesting coins though.

1961 Bashlow restrike from Lovette dies - approx 20,000 copper stuck.

The "bubbles" on the obverse are from hammer strikes that were used to damage the original dies.

I would had never believe that X-out coin dies would be selling for that much. What people collect just keeps amazing me.
