I know this is a common date, but it's one of my favorite coin designs. This is now the highest grade Peace Dollar I own (PCGS MS 65). I bought it for $132.50, maybe a little bit high but just couldnt resist owning this frosty gem. Let's see some more Peace Dollars in this thread! I never get tired looking at these.

That is a nice coin with an outstanding photo. Looks like the work of disruptek (E-Bay seller) to me. I have a few really nice Peace Dollars. Here is one.

That's a nice Peace dollar. I was admiring your toned Morgans on the other thread. I know disruptek's photos well from ebay; he has some very high-end stuff.

occasionally i see a MS66 on ebay ... and rarely a MS 67 ... i dont recall ever seeing a MS 68 ... as you step up in grades on these ... you really lose the population

I was thinking the exact same thing. In the motto on the left side of Liberty's bust. Is that where you see it, kanga?

DDO ... huh ... not saying it is or isnt ... coin is being shipped and I wont see it till Thurs or so

if it is a DDO is that worth anything extra? would pcgs have noted that when they graded it?

that's exactly what I meant. I didn't convey it very well, but yes, on IGWT

Check BOTH the Obverse AND the Reverse for doubling because I see doubling on both. Now I can't tell whether it's Doubled Die or Mechanical Doubling and being on both opens up the possibility of being Double Struck. The Reverse Doubling might also be illusory since it is not evident except in a few places.

Now one additional possibility is image doubling which is not actually on the coin. But yours seems too strong for that, at least on the Obverse.

@Marshall - I know what you mean about image doubling , now that I am increasingly searching for varieties on AU or better coins , the reflectivity of the coin surface reflecting it's own devices can give the illusion of doubling.
But I agree that the doubling on the OP's coin seems very strong in spots.
