Coppercoins.com has delisted those two DDRs as it has been determined that wavy steps/trail dies are not the result of doubled dies.

I can't believe the MS-66 grade on this coin. The die polishing is too distracting for a grade this high.

You actually hit the nail on the head. I ended up taking a lot of vacation this summer and spent a lot of time with my son. I never quit searching though! Now I'm in a process of trying to organize all of my coins.

 

My humble non-expert opinion is that this is die deterioration.

 

Sounds like a great way to spend the summer, still looking forward to the lams...
