It's a decent "error" and would bring a premium. Condition of the note will determine just how much. Need to post a pic of the entire note (front and back). I notice there is a corner missing from the note in one of the pics.
I purposely cropped the note to show the error AND to allow an identification. I thought a full scan was illegal. I've got the scans. What do I have to do to NOT get in trouble with the Feds?
Here are the rules regarding reproductions of US banknotes. No mentions of scans, only of prints. Some countries are picky about scans and online images, but as far as I've seen, not USA. Dave

Ballpark, in circulated condition with the teller's stamp and pen mark, you could probably still get $25 dollars give or take. It's a nice sized smear. In uncirculated, graded condition, it would run around $100 - $150.
Thanks. I was reasonably sure the extraneous marks would be a negative. But I got it out of circulation quite a few years ago. So anything above $5 is profit (not counting inflation).
O.K. , I left a message last night to a member but didn't get a response. Here's what I seen: $1 2003A series bill that has both serial numbers, but not a green stamp. At first I thought it was a hoax, but I viewed it tonight and it is real! Red and Blue fibers embedded in the paper. I wish the scanner was operational. I took this image with my cell phone. Nice note. What's missing is the treasury seal. How much is owner asking? Since the note is not graded for authenticity, you can use that to your advantage in haggling the price. The condition of the note is also a factor but it's hard to tell from your picture. I can't comment on the value of the note though but I am sure someone here can\will.
i would be carefull. I do believe the seal can be chemicaly removed. Hopefully someone with a better memory (lettow, numbers ect) and have an intimate understanding of these things - maybe they can comment on how to tell if the seal was chemicaly removed or if there is a way to tell if it is legit.....
