I am a brand new coin collector - can someone please tell me when the first George Washington quarter was minted?

you are new...you don't have one book or magazine on US coins?

    it's 1932.

Welcome to CT and go get a RedBook it'll help you with many questions.

    If it's a Washington it's not real.
Before 32 they made Standing Liberty Quarters. Those are much different.
