I've been a collector of US coins before I transitioned into ancient numismatics. The past 3 years I have focused solely on ancient coins. My main interests are Roman Republic & Imperial denarii, though I occasionally dabble with Greek & Byzantine coins. This year, I have greatly expanded my Republican collection and I currently own 10 of the 12 Caesars. I don't exactly have a favorite purchase, the coin's numbering below isn't indicative of a "ranking." #1) Moneyer issues of Imperatorial Rome. T. Carisius. 46 BC. AR Denarius (20mm, 3.83 g, 3h). Really Nice. Thanks for sharing! How do you acquire your coins? I have a 3 from Jaz Numismatics purchased at 2 separate coin conventions. #1 #2 #3
Most of my coins were bought from Vcoins.com. I also buy from Facebook groups and dealer's websites. Occasionally I find some hidden gems on eBay after going through most of the overpriced or fake stuff listed on there.
Great coin additions! I lile you started off collecting modern FM stuff/ proof sets. Then started getting auction catalogues from NFA/ Tkalec/ rest is history/ I was hooked on classical coins! Hope you add many more to your coll. John
Great additions, those republican coins are great pieces. I really like no. 1, and the boar on the reverse of your no. 5 is bueatifully rendered.
