    Sure, thanks maximum!

Ltrain: I want the rows to automatically add and subtract info. Example: The program adds the purchase price with the slabbing fee and subtracts the sale price, the eBay fee, the PayPal fee and the shipping fee to make a profit/loss total in the last column. Then it adds the columns too to make purchase totals and profit/loss totals.

That's easy. You use the SUM function. So you make your list, then at the bottom, in the last row of cells, you simply put "=SUM(A2:A100)" without the quotation marks... what that would do is add up the total of cells A2 through A100. Do the same for each column, then in the last column, simply put "=(A101+B101+C101)-(D101)" sans quotation marks once again. The first set in brackets (A, B, and C) would be your expenses, and the second (D) would be your estimated value. What remains would be your profit. If you want to add more expenses, just add more columns.

Let me show you a picture of what I mean. I changed the formula slightly because this is the way I like it. :p Sale price minus expenses shows profit. The totals row is just =SUM(B2:B4) in B5, =SUM(C2:C4) in C5, and so on. When you want to add a row for another coin, simply click the number 5 on the side column, then right click it, and hit insert. It should just insert a column. It may say insert column instead, either way it works. If it asks you if you want to shift information, say shift down.

Thanks, I'll let you know how easy when I try it again! Probably this weekend.

Hey, this part I changed to green only showed up in the "reply with quote" part. Weird...

If that's all you're looking for, I can just upload the file for ya, but it really is better to learn how to do it, that way you can create more diverse spread sheets later on.

Pretty cool program. However, I still think my old fashioned ledger and pen can never be beat. Plus, it travels well, sans batteries.

You can take an on-line class through Microsoft's website. I like paper so I bought Microsoft's book that came with a CD. Ltrain is right, it only takes a couple of hours to get the main jest of the program.

I used Excel for a while but found it unstable for sorting.

I made the purchase of Carlisle's Assistant. It has fields for shipping, purchase price, sell price, etc. If you purchase through Carlisle itself, you have a 30 day trial. Thank got for the trial -- I was at first very frustrated with the software's layout. I had a call with their technical assistant department and they got me on the right track. Calls to their tech dept are free. I've still got a couple of weeks to kick the tires. Anyone else every try Carlisle's software?
