Bid on a couple of lots on Heritage tonite. First time for this novice bidder. Wonder if I'll win? Probably get skunked, but hey, ya never know....
Good luck. Do your homework. Figure out what you're going to bid long before you do, and stick to it. Don't get caught in the frenzy. Good luck.
I buy the majority of my coins from Heritage and doing research of past bids has really helped me determine my bid.
Good luck Ken! Let us know how you do! I have yet to win a HA item myself, fierce is the competition or large their wallets! LOL!
Still 13 hours to go. Already got outbid on one item. That's alright, there'll be another one. Like mark_h said in another thread (and Leadfoot in this one)....set it and forget it.
I don't mean to hijack the thread (and best of luck on the auction, btw!) but what does it take to sell a coin through Heritage? How are their fees?
Very best of luck Very best of luck. Please post the Heritage photos depicting what you win & also what you lost. I typically use the “set it & forget it” method & don’t look until after the auction is complete.
Not sure, but you could check out this link....http://www.ha.com/common/sell.php?ic=Tab-ToSell-041408
Not sure if they do this for everyone - but I can think of twice I did the forget it part literally. Both times I was out of town and not in my local email account. To me it was great - they went ahead and billed by CC and shipped my item. I like that from them. Wish the up coming long beach sale had something I wanted and could afford.
Well guys, turns out that I did win two out of three lots that I bid on. With all the "chatter" about folks bidding and not winning on this forum, I count myself quite lucky. I feel that the price I paid for these was well within the realm of what should be price wise. Lets see if these pics pop....Still can't believe I've won these. The Bridgeport coin holds special significance as I can see the city lights from where I live on the island. I love the art deco eagle.
I have found they (Lincolns, anyway) often go for less than eBay. I have been trying to get a 41-D PCGS 66. The last few went for $20 - $30 on Heritage. I have only seen one go for less than $40 on eBay (and I got tied up and missed bidding on it). The problem I have been having with Heritage is that they have not been selling many Lincolns. BTW, congratulations on your winnings.
Congrats! Just like on ebay sometimes a coin gets out of sight, some of them I can understand and some I can't. Congrats on the wins and two nice new additions.
