I was looking through my coins and paper money last night and came across an 1899 $5 Silver Certificate featuring Chief Running Antelope, the only Native American featured on U.S. currency as the central design. So how about everybody posts a picture of their 1899 $5 Silver Certificates here?! I will post a picture soon.
I'll reply later after getting back to the SDB and taking some photo's. But neither of mine are anything special. But they are still nice.
Souvenir Card Here's my best fit for this category. A crisp and bright printed example of this fantastic note from the original BEP plate reproduced for the ANA's 86th Anniversary Convention in Atlanta, Georgia 1977 :smile
If I had one I'd post it. If anyone is willing to send one to me so I have one to post, please feel free Guy
Nice notes and card's guy's. Perhaps one day one will grace my collection? Many things on the want list, thats for sure. RickieB
Clayirving - Is this a photo issue or actually on the note? Looks like the left bottom front has a dicontinuity in the border.
Holey cramole! How'd you catch that! LOL! Impressive! I pulled the image file into Photoshop and looked at the reverse of the note flipped, looks like there is a matching reverse pattern there too. Duke might be right about a tear. For that matter the top margin, more noticeable up close, on the reverse looks to have a vertical fold or some mark(?) too. Follow that down through the F in Five on the reverse. Maybe just related to a vertical fold.
Upon closer review I now see the classic vertical trifolds this note has. Still a stunning note. I am also curious about a blank spot on the reverse: see attached pic.
yeah, I wasn't too sure about the fold or not... all I had at work was MS PAINT which blows, but I at least see what you mean now. True, it is a spectacular note, nonetheless, and one anybody would gladly own! I see the blank spot as well, but it wasn't quite as intriguing to me as much as the hitch in the bottom line was. Very Cool Notes, everyone!!! Hope to get one someday myself, but that's a lot of saving up for me!:thumb:
