Does "bust" refer to the head profile? For example a "bust" in the museum?

Or does "bust" refer to Liberty's chest? Draped bust?

Sorry if it is a crazy question, but just curious? :thumb:

Although miss liberty does have a nice bust IMO.The bust is typically refering to the portrayal of any given persons facial and shoulder area displaying there likeness artistcally. In our fine hobby this is ussaully found on the obverse of coins and medals.

I do wonder what you think a "Capped Bust" would be referring to.

It just means the bust figure has a cap on top and no we are not talking pasties, but a cap on the head of the bust figure. :)

I would say the term bust can be used to mean any representation of a person that does not extend below the waist.

....or do you mean upper torso? I would hate to think my fat belly would appear on a bust of me!
