I picked this 1963 Franklin up for $10.00. I am going to send it to ANACS. Anyone care to guess what the grade will be? Charlie
The pics are a little blurry but I'd guess it will go PF65/66. You might want to save the money on slabbing fees though - even if it goes 67/68 resale value is only about $30 - $35.
I concur..Prf 64-65 ... they might take a little off for the scattered spotting on the obverse... :kewl: but nice Frankie..make sure you check your 1961's for the DD reverse... RickieB
I guessmy pictures weren't very good I got it back from ANACS today. It was a Proof-68 Cameo. Charlie
Nice coin....maybe if it was in hand I would say otherwise...but I sure wouldn't give that coin the grade they did.....maybe Mr Taylor brought some of ICG grading with him.... Speedy
It looks a lot better in hand(the reverse has more frost than the picture shows). I think Miles Standish will really help ANACS with their grading. Charlie
Well then that is better....if there is more CAMEO I can see how the coin got that on the slab.... I don't know about grading...I think he has helped with the business part of it...the new slab...the faster return... Speedy
I was going to guess PR-66/67,I've noticed a lot of the folks on CT tend to lowball on their grading opinions. On one hand that may be a good thing since it dosn't raise false expectations but sometimes it seems you guys are harder graders than the TPG services. Of course grading a coin by picture or scan is really a shot in the dark and even more subjective than in hand grading. Nice coin to bad it isn't FBL
Its true....for all of the TPG....proofs aren't graded FBL.... That is good.... I think we are....should we start our own Co.??? J/K Amen....grading is much easyer in hand.... Speedy
I'd have not guessed a 68! I was thinking Cameo, but more of a 66, maybe 65 (mostly because the pic was too hard to see). Nice find at 68 for $10!
