Surface is mirror like, Kennedy is not reflective etc. Found this in a roll from the bank. Also - where is a good place to get halves by the bag etc? Cheers, Scott
I know the colors look off - it's from the scanner light at an angle. It shows how reflective this is on the surface.
Cool find . Definately a proof. I find one in about every 7-8 boxes I search. Almost as nice as finding the 40%'s
All Kennedys with an S mintmark, period... except for the 1976-S silver clad uncs and the Matte finish 1998-S in the RFK set. If you find an S mintmark on a Kennedy it's a good thing.
Doesn't matter. All dimes, quarters, and halves with an S mintmark from the 60s were proofs. 1968-S and 1969-S nickels and cents were made for circulation, and the San Francisco Mint made a number of circulating coins without mintmarks in 1965-67.
Huh, that's a crappy proof then... Were the SMS sets from San Fran too? Those technically aren't proofs.
They were, but the coins were not made with mintmarks. And I've heard the argument that they technically *were* proofs, but just not called that.
