I am 3/4 done searching through a recently acquired "Budgood" bag, bought from the classified section here on CoinTalk. I just pulled out a nice 1911-S cent, and thought I'd share it with the forum.
Very cool finds ! Besides these 2 coins, did you find any other key or semi-key dates that were in at least the same condition ? I'm thinkin that 1911-s could sell for about 1/5 of the cost of the whole bag.
Oh yes, I've found many 20s and 30s with mint marks, and lots of f-xf wheats, I put about 500 aside for re-examining. One is a possible 1909-S. I'll try to get a picture up.
That is funny, because I tell myself I will find such and such coin and sell it it for such and such, so I can buy a better coin. But I end up not wanting to part with any of them
I got another Budgood bag from the classifieds here, and I'm about half way through searching them, so far I've found 2 more 1911-S and a highly polished 10-s, several other semi-key Lincolns, and a couple of semi-key worn Indians. Lots of 1930s with mint marks, and several BU wheats. Halfway through, and I've pulled out twice as many as the previous bag. I'll post some pictures when I'm done searching. I'm very happy with my finds so far. I hope Jason doesn't mind me promoting his bags so much, but they are the best I've seen
Budgood bags are fun. I filled most of my albums and I do know I found 1 1909 VDB and 3 1864 indians (1 I believe is a 1864-L with the pointy bust). No telling how many other nice coins I found. The only thing I did not do was look for varieties - just looking for certain dates to finish my books.
unlucky Well I finished searching my 1st budgood bag and the only good coin I found was a 1931-d. I guess I am just unlucky
