Guys, I was putting all my cents away for winter and breaking down my sort table, putting stuff in tubes, boxes, etc. When I grabbed this one. I think it is a DDO-3 ? The date looks right, but I couldn't see any of the markers. Maybe when my new glasses come in ?

I would appreciate an opinion on it. Now I did use tinypic as a host again. Maybe next year I can figure out how to post the pics another way ?

It is an "S". I saw the mistake, but I be hanged, I can't figure out how to edit that. Sorry for that. Old brain doesn't always reach the typing unit. Darn it ! Changed it for you.

    Thanks,
    gary

I see split serifs on the lower 7 and 2, looks all good from here.
But I am pretty far away.

I would reserve a definite opinion due to the smallness of the date area. First glance seems MD, maybe including the MM also. Sorry, can you try a photo of the date through a magnifier ?

The 1972-s cent is not listed in the "Cherrypickers' Guide", I can't see what you see from the pictures. Soooo, I will not agree as a DD. Sorry. :)-O) There is a 1972-s proof (Breen# 2266) that has the letters DD, and is in this book. Values: PF63-$450.00.

The only one which would seem even close is the 1972-S WDDO-003. Very similar to the 1972P DDO-009. There is a visible doubling ,North of the tail of the 2 which is noticeable. Wexler and Flynn "Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents" has it on page 230. I still can't tell on this coin.

Sorry guys, I think I should have turned it across the scanner bed for a clearer shot ? I will try and get a pic tomorrow if I can get the rig I made up to giving me something decent. My eyes can't read the LCD on the cam to well. I went through 20 rolls for an initial sort today and found another one ? It's mostly on the 7 I think. Sure try to get pics when it's daylight.

    Thanks again
