Every once in a while I will receive an email from E-bay saying "sorry you didn't win XXX"
Now the email appears to be legit (see picture below)..or is this spyware/spam?

Could this be, that A. someone else has my account (doubt that because I didnt notice any charges on my CC) or B. Something from ebay...I only use both computers at my house to log on to ebay..no other computer not even my parents. (I know it doesnt mean that someone couldnt have hacked into my pc).

    Any ideas?

Try going to [Accounts] [Site Preferences] and [Buying alerts on eBay pages] / [ Advertising Preferences] or anything else you see checked there that you do not like. See if that helps.

If you actually bid on the item and lost, then it is legit. Ebay sends one out everytime you lose unless you turn it off.

Could be someone is bidding with your account, but then, you'd think they'd win once in a while and you'd be billed for it. Could also be eBay is pushing sales and sending coins/auctions for your inspection based on your eBay activity. I think I've received the same type of emails.

I have not had that happen yet on items unless I had bid. But they just started adding some new marketing tools and stuff. I agree that you should check your settings and contact support to report the glitch. Might want to change your passwords ?

If you are getting that message on items that you have not bid on then it is a phish..

    This is from eBay

Here's some information about: How to know the email you received was sent by eBayThe easiest way to verify whether an email is from us is to check your messages in My eBay. If we really sent the message, a copy of it will appear in your messages in My eBay when you sign into your eBay account.

If you received an email that you suspect is a hoax, don't click any links in the email. Report the email to us by forwarding it to spoof@ebay.com.

If you've already answered a spoof email and sent personal or confidential information, please review the immediate steps you can take to protect your account.

Thanks for all your responses...it's definitely a phish especially since I haven't bid on anything in a while.
