1944 strangely shaped half dollar

    photo 3.jpg photo 2.jpg ] photo 1.jpg I found this half dollar, the sides of it are course unlike other half dollars from the time, it also has a dot on top of the eagle, can anyone give me any info on it.

    Photo #1 - no idea what that is. Looks like a hole in a sheet of metal.

    Photos #2 & 3 - looks like the half dollar is a former jewelry piece that was soldered in a bezel and later removed. In that case it has little to no numismatic value and would be worth melt.

    Looks like photo #1 is an edge shot showing solder damage. I agree with hobo, and only worth melt.
