I changed my settings so you don't have to scroll to the right (forever) to see the Thread. But now, I have to use the bar at the bottom of each post to scroll left/right in order to see the whole post. It appears this occurs when pictures are posted in the thread. Seems like the Thread takes up about 2/3rds of the width of the screen and Recent Threads takes up about 1/3rd. Anyway to see the whole Thread without scrolling? Anyway to turn off Recent Threads? Any other fix?
Thanks, checked those links and it looks like the problem isn't fixed yet. I'll keep checking for a solution. Bet Peter wishes he never updated the software. I know I have said no to updates unless they’re “revolutionary”, as they often cause more problems than they’re worth.
Well, I'm still not having any problems viewing the threads and can deal with the occassional MONSTER-sized pics I have to scroll around, but I think Peter upgraded at the right time. The format was getting old and many other coin forums were using the latest software. Overall, from my user-end of the CT experience, the upgrade seemed very smooth, painless and the learning curve was very short.
If it were occasional, yeah - but, I have to scroll every post with a pic, which is just about every thread.
Interesting, that does resize the site, but it makes everything bigger and I still have to sroll back and forth to see the whole picture.
In my experience most of the pictures are resized (by the site/browser?) so that they don't go off the page. If you are not having this happen maybe you need to update your browser. I still run across a thread that is messed up every couple days but the large majority look like they should.
You are missing the whole point. This didn't start occurring until only recently. Before the update, Peter made modifications in the old protocol because of a sizing issue. Everything was working fine even for the first couple of weeks with the new update. There is something screwed up in the new protocol. It is not a browser issue. Chris
FWIW, I'm using Firefox, and have had no problems at all. Never had to change any settings, the upgrade went smoothly for me... Joe
But it is not "1/3 of the page wide". It is X number of pixels wide. On my screen, it is normally ~15%, but I can make it somewhere between <10% to >25% depending on how much I zoom my screen
