http://www.varietynickels.com Your link is coming up a "bad request". I do hope that this new section will mean other specialist such as yourself will become a little more active. We need the education in these varieties.
Hey Jason! Found you! I'll be using your forum here as much as possible in the future (as well as NGC/PCGS). Very glad "we" Jeff fanatics have a dedicated forum again! David
Hey I finally made it as well! This is going to be a great site!!! My favorite nothing but Nickels!!!
This is a great idea! I've loved collecting Jefferson nickels since I was a kid. They are still my main interest. Thanks, Jason, for taking the time, and putting forth the effort, to share your knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. I look forward to learning, and participating, in this very cool forum. Jody
jtwax, your website link in your signature is wrong. It shows http://variety nickels/ It needs to be http://www.varietynickels.com Thanks, and hope this helps out...
Check this out. I didnt pay this much. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41088&item=3912116528&rd=1
What are these? They appear to be privately minted in the 2000's based on the inscription at the botton of Jefferson's bust on the obverse.
Amazing price they paid for that. Poor person got ripped off. These are still available from the FSNC. They are minted by the Gallery Mint Museum and are the original design of the Jefferosn nickel that Felix Schlag created, which was never adopted. Stop by my site on the main page and there is a little more information as well as an order form. They are certainly a super nice coin!
Thanks to rdunnit for posting a link to this on the PCGS site. Look forward to learning more here. Ken
No problem. I have a lot to learn when it comes to Jefferson or for that matter varieties all together. Jason's Variety nickels site is awesome. I think that the first thing that I will do when I get the cash is to join CONECA, NCADD, and FSNC. Hi JT, I see that I have used this forum before but under a different user name. Hopefully I have this set now for receiving messages in my e-mail. As we discussed earlier, I am interested in more info about that Schlag postcard, if Mark has some info, please pass it on. Gary
As I am new here, I hope you will excuse my not understanding of the title of this thread. If it is for Jefferson nickel series as stated, then should it not be called "Jefferson Type five-cent pieces". In doing so, people like myself would not open this thread expecting to talk about five-cent pieces ie: Buffalo etc. Just curious as to the naming of the thread.... thank you for any answer.
