    Hey guys,
I recently got a digital microscope and have been playing around with it and thought the date on this 1967 SMS Quarter looked odd so I took some pictures with the microscope. Is it machine doubling? or something else? What is your guys take on this. Please forgive me as I am still a new collector and still learning, thanks guys Image149.jpg !

Funny thing about super magnification....you begin to see things that aren't there.....:)

And also things you don't want to see....

Haha, so is this really nothing? The 1 9 and 6 looked a little fat to me and the 6 had something in it. Its a cool little gadget tho, not bad for 50 bucks =)

I took another shot of the 1 6 and 9, and one of the In God We Trust. Seems a little off too and R seems filled. Who knows...

It looks like machine doubling to me, but please, before you post your photos, be sure to resize them to about 640x480 so I don't have to scroll back and forth.

    Thanks!

Hey, thanks guys. Sorry about the size of the photos, how do I go about resizing them? Is there a option for that in the post functions?

When you are processing your photos, you should crop them before resizing to eliminate the extraneous background. Otherwise, you are enlarging the background as well. If you crop the photos first, you will not need to resize to anything larger than 640x480 for a decent image.
