I suffered through the first 2 episodes tonight & in its attempt to compete with Pawn Stars IMO it failed miserably.
Thats the way it always is, look at all the decorating shows, dance competitions, dating "reality" shows. Monkey see monkey do....
It tries to be grittier, but it's all staged just like Pawn Stars. Who's gonna actually drag three horses into an inner city pawn store. Also, the irate woman who lost her receipt and the irate gun store owner. They would have to sign some sort of paperwork to be on TV. It's just as fake as repo man.
its kinda ironic that TRU tv has the most obvious staged reality shows! i guess they can't spell it "true" because it aint! a little off topic but...i have noticed that tlc released a few series that are exactly the same as a&e. like a&e's "first 48, tlc released "48 hour mystery. same with the hoarding show and made an intervention show. its one thing to make a series that is similar, but these are the same exact thing with very little difference in title.
Hoarders was an intriguing title. I thought it was going to be like American Pickers where you went to look at all the stuff in someone's house. Turn's out to be a show about people with mental issues.
yea, i am not a fan of that show, my girl loves it but i can't stand it. its basically the same thing every show. i am usually sympathetic with peoples conditions, especially with my anxiety and panic attacks, but most of those people are lazy and not hoarders. really it gives hoarders bad names! i am sure not every hoarders house is filled with animal droppings, dead animals, and rotten food. my favorite was the old lady that stocked up on food like they didn't make it anymore. she would say "as long as its not puffy, its ok to eat". i wouldn't be surprised if she was dead by now.
