Could this be a major dealer error. Not likely

all I can see is that the cent is in an old NGC holder...a sharp example 95+% red with little marks on it, see no error but tread carefully around e-bay

I think it is legit, just because coin world list it as more does not mean they are selling for that. Maybe the dealer just wants to unload some stock. I would be supprised if he had anywhere near $20.00 in that coin.

I don't know if that's toning above "ONE". Maybe something grew on it after slabbing.

The price is in line with trends....but a bit on the high side actually.

    PCGS - $52
    CDN MS-65 - $15.50

I was interesting in buying it but I saw the same thing statequarterguy saw and I thought it was a little too high. Give the state of the reverse side of the coin. I tend not to rely on coin magazines but mostly on input from this forum. As a newbie, I really dont want to be taken to the cleaners this early in my collection.

i would rather be taken early, when i am not investing in big priced coins, or not at all.

No the dealer did not make a mistake. But I can see why you might think so if you base your decison on the prices you see in coin magazines. You were wondering if that $50 asking price was too low - would it surprise you to learn that the actual price that coin is bringing at auction is about $25 ?

Never use the price guides in coin magazines - ever !

Thanks GDJMSP. I did not realize that magazines were not a good source for making a buying decision. Because I am new, I am glad for all the feedback I recieve. With all the exp in this forum, I can only get better at buying coins and truly enjoy the hobby of coin collecting.
